ASHLEE BANXXS
Artist
Ashlee McDaniel (Ashlee Banxxs) is a visual artist whose work explores spiritual and sustainable themes through consumer-conscious art that reflects the interaction between humans and natural ecosystems. Her artwork intricately weaves together the use of sustainable materials, infusing each piece with environmental consciousness and historical significance. By embracing the age-old craft of sewing and quilting, she honors traditional techniques and transforms them into modern narratives that resonate with contemporary audiences. This thoughtful approach highlights the beauty of sustainable practices while celebrating each fabric's stories.
McDaniel holds a Master of Arts in Art and Design from Kennesaw State University and a Bachelor of Science in Merchandising & Design from Alabama A&M University. The artist has showcased her work in solo exhibitions throughout Los Angeles and was selected as a resident artist at the Studio H Artist Residency in Victoria, B.C. In addition to her art practice, she is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the National Art Education Association, Women's Ego Artist Dialogue, and a Citizen Climate lobbyist advocating for sustainability.
